A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
THE VACATION OF THE ACCESS WAY IN PUBLIC
UTILITIES EASEMENT IN BLOCK 171, IN THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, pursuant
to the provisions of the "Public Service Easements Vacation Law,"
being Sections 50430 to 50445, inclusive, of the Government Code
of the State of California, does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1: That it is the intention of the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, California, to order the vacation of an east
and west access way and public service easement, of 20 feet in
width, through Block 171, in the City of Bakersfield, California,
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly boundary line of
22nd Street, of 82.5 feet in width, with the westerly boundary line
of "P" Street, of 82.5 feet in width, said point of beginning also
being the southeast corner of Block 171, situated in the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, and as said
Block 171, and said Streets are shown on the "Map of the City of
Bakersfield," filed in the office of the County Recorder, of Kern
County, California, November 25, 1898, in Book 1 of Maps, at pages
13 and 14; thence northerly along the westerly boundary line of
said "P" Street, to intersect a line parallel with, and distant
102.604 feet northerly, as measured perpendicular from the
northerly boundary line of said 22nd Street, and to the true point
of beginning; thence westerly along last named parallel line, to
intersect the easterly boundary line of "0" Street, of 82.5 feet
in width, and as said "0" Street is shown on said "Map of the City
of Bakersfield"; thence northerly along the easterly boundary line
of said "0" Street, to intersect a line parallel with, and distant
122.604 feet northerly, as measured perpendicular from the northerly
boundary line of said 22nd Street; thence easterly along last named
parallel line, to intersect the westerly boundary line of said "P"
Street; thence southerly along the westerly boundary line of said
"P" Street, to intersect the afore described line, which line is
parallel with, and distant 102.604 feet northerly, as measured
perpendicular from the northerly boundary line of said 22nd Street,
and to the true point of beginning, containing 5280 square feet of
land, more or less.

For further particulars as to the proposed vacation, reference
is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Bakersfield, City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield,
California.
SECTION 2: That the hour of 8 o'clock P.M., on the 28th day
of May, 1962, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 1501
Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, be and the same is hereby
fixed as the time and place when and where all persons interested
in or objecting to the proposed vacation may appear before the City
Council and be heard.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield,
California, shall give notice of the adoption of this resolution
and of said proposed vacation by posting a copy of this resolution
on the bulletin board in the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue in said
City in the manner provided by Ordinance No. 527, New Series, and
by publishing notice thereof in The Bakersfield Californian, a
newspaper of general circulation published in said City, once a
week for two successive weeks prior to said hearing.
SECTION 4: That the Superintendent of Streets of the City of
Bakersfield, California, shall, on behalf of the City Council of
said City, post conspicuously, notices of easement vacation along
the line of the easement proposed to be vacated, as required by
said Public Service Easements Vacation Law; and the Council of said
City hereby elects to proceed under the provisions of said law.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 7th day of May, 1962, by the following
vote:
