When police arrived, the apartment front door had been kicked open and the burglary was still in progress. Two suspects later identified as Kenneth Ray Bishop 30 and John Foshee 29 ran out the back door and into the neighborhood. Foshee was located and apprehended on the canal bank which runs parallel to Truxtun Avenue about ¼ mile east of Quailridge Road. Officers established a perimeter and conducted a yard to yard search for Bishop. Quailridge Elementary School was placed on lock down. At 1:21 p.m., Sergeant Jack Smith, who was on Truxtun Avenue, observed a dog in the back yard of a a residence in the 7600 block of Saddleback Drive behaving excitedly and he directed officers assigned to the yard to yard search to investigate. When the officers arrived they located Bishop in that backyard and Bishop ran from them through several yards on the north side of Saddleback Drive into the 7300 block where officers caught up to him. Bishop resisted arrest and was taken into custody after a struggle. Bishop and Foshee were arrested for burglary, conspiracy and resisting arrest.
