A RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST TO FILE
EXTENSION OF TIME WITH THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION, FOR THE TRANSPORTATION
EQUITY ACT FOR THE 21STCENTURY (TEA-21)
FUNDS FOR CENTENNIAL CORRIDOR (HP21 L
5109(098))
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield received Transportation Equity Act for the
21 st Century (TEA-21) funds for the construction of Centennial Corridor (HP21 L
5109(098)); and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield, in conjunction with the California
Department of Transportation, is currently working on the Environmental Document
(ED) for said project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield is anticipating the completion of the ED in
2012; and
WHEREAS, once the ED is complete the project will continue into the Design
and Right-of-Way phases with no anticipated delay; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the Centennial Corridor Project is scheduled to
begin in 2015.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein
by reference.
2. The City Council approves the filing of an extension of time request
with the State of California, Department of Transportation, for the
Centennial Corridor Project.
