AN ORDINANCE ADDING THE WASH/NGTON NO. 1
ANNEXATION TO WARD 1.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted a resolution on
August 21, 1996, for the WASHINGTON NO. 1 ANNEXATION ordering the territory
annexed to the City .of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield is
required to be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WI-IEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territory to the
City of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A" and as
shown in Exhibit "B" for WASHINGTON NO. 1 ANNEXATION attached hereto and
incorporated as though fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be U-ue and correct.
Section 2.
WaShington No. 1 Annexation shall be included in Ward 1.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal
Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described territory to the
City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on

County. of Kern. State of California. more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the south 1/4 corner of said Section 28 as monumented by a Kern County
Surveyors concrete monument in a lamphole. said 1/4 corner being designated as N. 681,
440.967, E. 1,709,174.466 per the California Coordinate System, Zone 5:
Thence N. 00° 13' 00" E., along the mid-section line of said Section 28, a distance of 1573.02
feet to a point on the southerly right of way line of Edison Highway (80 foot wide fight of
way) being a point on the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield, also being
the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING:

right of way line of Washington Street (Co. Rd. No. 399);
