Original Release January 23, 2011 On Sunday, January 23, 2011, at about 2:06 a.m., Bakersfield Police Officers were dispatched to a parking lot located at 1031 “19th” Street regarding reports of a male victim who had been intentionally chased and run over with a vehicle. The victim was transported to KMC E.R. for where he is being treated for life threatening injuries as a result of the assault. The victim has been identified as; Eleazar Godinez Torres, 29 year old male. Investigation, thus far, has revealed the victim and his brother drove onto the parking lot to relieve themselves and stopped near the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle is described as being a dark blue or green, 1995-1998, Chevrolet or GMC 1500 or 2500, extended cab pick-up. While at this location, the victim and his brother were confronted by a Hispanic male, early 20’s, thin build, who noted one of suspect vehicle windows had been smashed. The initial confrontation quickly ended and the possible suspect quickly entered the suspect vehicle and left the area. A short time later the suspect vehicle returned and rammed the parked victim’s vehicle while the victim was still standing on the lot. The victim was chased and run over by the suspect vehicle before the suspect vehicle fled a second time eastbound on “19th” Street without the use of vehicle lighting. The suspect vehicle is believed to have minor to moderate front end damage as a result of the assault and ramming incident.
