August 4, 2011
On Friday August 5, 2011 and Saturday August 6, 2011 the Bakersfield Police Department will conduct DUI / Driver License Checkpoints at undisclosed locations in the City of Bakersfield.
These DUI / Driver License Checkpoints are in an effort to reduce the number of persons injured or killed each year in DUI related collisions. A major component of this enforcement
event is to increase awareness of the dangers of impaired driving and to encourage sober designated drivers.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The public is encouraged to
help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.
