For Immediate Release August 22, 2011
The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in
identifying 4-5 suspects wanted for felony assault and battery.
On 8/13/11, at about 1:45 a.m., two Hispanic men in their thirties were walking to their
car in the 1400 block of 19th Street when they were attacked by 4-5 Hispanic males in
their late twenties. The suspects described as follows:
Hispanic male, 25-35 years old, with a moustache
Hispanic male, 25-30 years old
Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, 6’4” tall, medium to heavy build
Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, short having a stocky build
occupying a White 4-door sedan, possibly a 2000-2005 Cadillac
drove up behind the victims as they approached their parked car and all four suspects,
possibly five, exited the Cadillac. One suspect armed with an unknown object,
assaulted the first victim and when the second victim came to his defense, he was also
struck with the object by the first suspect and then simultaneously assaulted by the
remainder of the group. The assault ceased when a witness started yelling for
someone to call 911.
All suspects fled in the Cadillac.
Both victims sustained serious injuries, one requiring hospitalization.
