Joint Operation to Suppress Alcohol Related Crimes in the area of Hart Park.
On August 27, 2011, the Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s
Department Joint Vice Task Force (JVTF) arrested eight people for alcohol related crimes
on the north side of Hart Park adjacent to the Kern River.
The arrests were for consuming alcohol in the park; two subjects additionally for urinating
in the park, and one subject for an outstanding spousal abuse warrant.
Funding for this operation was provided by the California Department of Alcoholic
Beverage Control (ABC) Grant Assistance Program. ABC is a Department of the Business,
Transportation and Housing Agency.
