Follow up Release September 6, 2011
The investigator in the following case, which has previously been released to the media, is
specifically looking for three individuals who witnessed the assault, however, were not identified
prior to their departure. A male and two females who exited Enso Sushi Bar as the assault was
taking place yelled at the suspects to stop and warned the suspects they were calling the police.
The male subject indicated at the scene that he was a law enforcement officer, although not
local. Detective Evan Demestihas is interested in speaking with any or all three of these
witnesses in addition to anyone else with information regarding this assault.

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying 4-5
suspects wanted for felony assault and battery.
On 8/13/11, at about 1:45 a.m., two Hispanic men in their thirties were walking to their car in the
1400 block of 19th Street when they were attacked by 4-5 Hispanic males in their late twenties.
The suspects described as follows:
Hispanic male, 25-35 years old with a moustache
Hispanic male, 25-30 years old
Hispanic male 25-30 years old, 6’4” tall, medium to heavy build
Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, short having a stocky build
Occupying a White 4-door sedan, possibly a 2000-2005 Cadillac.
Drove up behind the victims as they approached their parked car and all four suspects, possibly
five exited the Cadillac simultaneously. One suspect armed with and unknown object, assaulted
the first victim and when the second victim came to his defense, he was also struck with the
object by the first suspect and then simultaneously assaulted by the remainder of the group.
The assault ceased when a witness started yelling for someone to call 911.
