November 21, 2011
The Bakersfield Police Department will join with the
California Highway Patrol in a maximum enforcement effort
during the Thanksgiving Holiday. From 6pm on Wednesday,
November 23rd through Sunday, November 27th, every
available officer will conduct maximum visibility, maximum
enforcement patrols in an effort to make sure that everyone
arrives safely to their holiday destination.
The Bakersfield Police Department encourages everyone to
buckle up and take your time while traveling to your holiday
celebrations, and if your celebrations include consuming
alcohol, please plan ahead and designate a sober, licensed
driver.
Funding for these efforts is provided by a grant from the
California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The public is
encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they
see a suspected impaired driver.
