Upon arrival at the site a visual inspection was performed on the anode connections, rectifier and cathodic protection test leads. The rectifier settings and outputs were noted and the test was performed using a copper-copper sulfate reference cell in contact with the earth and a digital multimeter. The following readings were then obtained: On (mv) Off (mv) Tank 1 -1072 -459 Tank 2 -1068 -457 Tank 3 -1067 -451 Tank 4 -1071 -444 The above structure-to-soil potentials were measured with a digital volt meter connected between the underground storage tank and a saturated copper-copper sulfate reference electrode in contact with the earth. The readings were obtained at the tank fills. The copper- copper sulfate cell was placed in the planter at the southeast corner of the lot. llltllllllllllilllll 70 IE Structure-to-soil potentials measurements for each tank exceed the recognized NACE International criteria of -850 millivolts and 300 millivolts shift for full cathodic protection. The Rectifier settings and outputs are as follows: Volts 49V D.0 Amps 3 Coarse D Fine 3 Hourmeter 8109 Range Volts 49-50V D.C. Amps 3-5 This survey was conducted_ in accordance with the procedures described in the NACE International Standard Recommended Practice RP0285-95, Corrosion Control of Underground Storage Tank Systems by Cathodic Protection and American Petroleum Institute (API) Recommended Practice 1632, Cathodic Protection of Underground Petroleum Storage Tanks and Piping Systems This system is operating as designed and all underground storage tanks are receiving the required protective current.
