HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 176-01RESOLUTION NO. 'j ? 6 ' 0 'J A RESOLUTION REGARDING STREAMLINING OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS. WHEREAS, recent City Council meetings have become quite lengthy; and WHEREAS, as a consequence of lengthy Council meetings, some members of the public who have scheduled business before the Council have had to wait a number of hours before their particular item on the Council agenda is discussed; and WHEREAS, the Council has adopted and will adopt certain ordinances changes to help streamline Council meetings; and WHEREAS, adoption of this Resolution will further aide in the streamlining process. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The above recitals and findings are true and correct. When a City Council Member makes a referral for a workshop, that Council Member shall be given the opportunity to indicate whether he/she wishes the workshop to be held at a designated Council Committee level or at the City Council level. After this designation is made, the entire Council will be given the opportunity to affirm the Council Member's request. Public information/public relations workshops will be video-taped and provided to Council Members who can view the video tapes at times convenient to them.
