Orange Ave. Suite 900 Orlando, FL. 32801 Re: Sparkling Image 2301 "H" Street Product & Vent line removal Gentlemen; The renovation at the above facility is now complete. As part of the renovation, the 'existing' fuel line and pumps were removed. In accordance with City of Bakersfield requirements, soil samples were procured from beneath the fuel pumps, product lines and vent lines to verify if any hydrocarbons were present beneath those pipe runs. No odors of hydrocarbons were detected in the soil samples and no soil staining was observed. All sampling was performed with proper containers, iced transport containers, chain of custody, etc. by experienced and trained professionals, in accordance with SW -846. Soil samples were procured with the use of; a 2" auger, backhoe, and shovel. All samples were analyzed for TPH Gas, BTEX, and Total Lead by "Oilfield Environmental and Compliance ". On August 10, 2010, fourteen soil samples were taken at the locations shown on the attached map. At each lettered location soil samples were procured from depths of two and six feet. The analysis for TPH Gas and BTEX were "ND ". Total Lead ranged from "ND to 11 mg /kg, which is within the normal range for Bakersfield background samples. On August 16, 2010, four soil samples were procured from the "vent line piping" area as shown on the attached map. At each numbered location soil samples were procured from depths of two feet and six feet. The analysis for TPH Gas and BTEX were "ND ". Total Lead ranged from 3.8 to 67. With no associated elevated BTEX or TPH analytical results, the somewhat elevated Total Lead result was considered as of low relevance. 2012 "E" Street Bakersfield Califomia 93301 661- 325 - 4862 * * * Fax 661- 325 - 5126 Email: EnvPro C0 aol.com The soil sample results indicate that no TPH Gas and no BTEX were found in the vent and product piping runs. Total Lead results were of no relevance. Please review the foregoing and if you have any questions please contact this office.
