The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the communities’ assistance in
identifying a suspect wanted for assault and battery.
On 11/17/11, a 30 year old female reported she was walking north on Union Avenue
towards Panorama Drive from the area of West Columbus Street when she was
followed from the Lucky 7 Market by a an unknown male. The woman reported the man
caught up to her and grabbed her shirt from behind, ripping it. The woman said she
struck the man, who released his grip on the shirt and ran north on Union Avenue
toward Manor Street. The woman ran the opposite direction and called for help on her
phone. She described the man as a Hispanic male, 35-45 years old, 5'07"-5'09",
having black slicked back hair, a mustache, and wearing a plaid shirt and dark
colored pants. His image is depicted in the computer generated composite below.
Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to call Detective Jeff Saso
at 326-3535.
