Date December 20, 2011
On Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 6:02 PM, Bakersfield Police Officers were dispatched to
a report of a victim down on the ground possibly suffering from a gunshot wound at 1001 West
Columbus Street, Royal Palms Apartments.
The investigation revealed the suspect was involved in a dispute with an unidentified adult
female. The adult male victim attempted to intervene in the dispute with the suspect and the
unidentified female. During a physical altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim with an
unknown cutting instrument. The victim retreated to a nearby apartment complex and collapsed.
The suspect fled the scene in a white full-size pickup with a possible horizontal red stripe
along the sides. The unidentified female fled the scene by unknown means. The victim was
declared deceased at the scene.
The suspect is described as a: White male adult, goatee, possibly having tattoos on his arms.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending release by the Coroner’s Office. The
investigation is ongoing.
