On December 21, 2011 detectives of the Bakersfield Police Department contacted
Jacob Kephart, WM 21, in the 300 block of Royal Way. This contact was a result of the
investigation of the homicide which occurred on December 20, 2011 in the 4000 block of
O Street. When contacted, Kephart had a fixed blade knife concealed on his person. He
had also been seen operating a reported stolen vehicle in the area. He was later booked
into the Kern County Jail for murder as well as the above described offenses. The female
subject who was believed to be arguing with Kephart, prior to the homicide, has been
identified and contacted as well.
