On December 23, 2011at 6:15 PM, officers were dispatched to Kohl’s at 9400 Rosedale Highway
regarding a theft in progress which was later determined to be a Strong Arm Robbery. Upon arrival,
officers located the suspect vehicle to the front of Dick’s Sporting Goods. The driver of the vehicle
failed to stop and led officers in a pursuit. During the pursuit the suspect vehicle struck three unoccupied
parked vehicles in the parking lot. Due to the drivers erratic driving and large amount of vehicular and
pedestrian traffic, the pursuit was terminated.
At 1826 hours, officers responded to 5001 Dakota Lane for a vehicle that crashed into this residence.
The vehicle which was abandoned was the vehicle from the theft at Kohl’s. A perimeter was set and the
suspects were located and taken into custody at Dakota Lane and Blackfoot Court. Arrested were
Giordano Sanchez, 24, of Bakersfield and a 17 year old female of Bakersfield. Both suspects were taken
to Kern Medical Center for medical clearance as a result of the collision. The occupants inside the
residence were not injured. Sanchez and the female juvenile were arrested for robbery, conspiracy,
burglary, and evading arrest.
