HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011_12_24_Murder at Elks Lodge BAKERSFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE Greg Williamson, Chief of Police For Immediate Release Date December 24, 2011 The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community's assistance in locating a suspect wanted for murder. On Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 1:31 AM, Bakersfield Police Officers were dispatched to 1414 East California Ave, Elks Lodge in regards to a report of a victim of a shooting. Upon arrival officers located an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to his chest to the rear of the building. The victim was transported by Halls Ambulance to Kern Medical Center and pronounced deceased at the local hospital. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending release by the Coroner’s Office. The investigation revealed the suspect was involved in a physical altercation with the victim for unknown reasons. During a physical altercation, the suspect shot the victim once with a handgun. Investigators have identified Roniele Delouth as responsible for this crime. Delouth is a Black male, 25 years old, 5’9” tall, 155 pounds, having black hair and brown eyes. Delouth is suspected to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327- 7111, the 911 system or anonymously through the Secret Witness Hotline at 322-4040.
