Upon arrival officers were able to confirm that the suspect, Joshua Pearce (29),
of Bakersfield, was inside an apartment. Pearce had an outstanding arrest
warrant for parole violation. Phone contact was established with Pearce however
he refused to surrender. Over the next several hours there were several phone
conversations between Pearce and officers, friends and family members.
