For Immediate Release January 30, 2012
The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the communities’ assistance identifying a suspect wanted
for theft.
On 1/18/12, at about 10:00 p.m., the victim ran out of gas at Brimhall Road and Verdugo Lane. She left
her red 2004 Ford Mustang at the intersection and walked to the 7-11 Store at Brimhall Road and
Calloway Drive to fill her gas can. When she returned to the Mustang she realized she left the keys to the
car on the counter at the 7-11 Store. She walked back to the store but the keys were gone. When she
returned to the intersection of Brimhall Road and Verdugo Lane she discovered the Mustang had been
stolen.
The suspect in the attached video surveillance photos is seen taking the Mustang keys from the counter
and presumably took the Mustang also. On 1/20/12, the Mustang was located abandoned in the south
alley 1000 block of Oleander Avenue.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect depicted in the attached photos is
encouraged to call Detective Brian West at 326-3097.
