Investigation has led to the identification of a second suspect in this case. The
suspect is identified as:
Joseph Jamal Hendrix, Black Male 23, DOB 03/01/1989
5’6”, 145, Blk. Hair, Brn. Eyes
An arrest warrant has been secured for Hendrix for Attempt Homicide, Assault
with a Firearm and Participation in a Criminal Street Gang.
The firearm in this case has not been recovered and therefore Hendrix is
considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Mike Coronado at the
Bakersfield Police Department at 326-3857 or 327-7111.
Previous Release February 17, 2012
On February 16, 2012, at 7:40pm officers of the Bakersfield Police Department
were dispatched to 3001 South Chester Avenue regarding a subject who had
been shot. On arrival officers located two victims with gunshot wounds who were
transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. Detectives were
called to the scene to take over the investigation. The Detectives’ investigation
has led to securing an arrest warrant for Attempt Homicide for
Samuel Bryant, Black Male, 16, DOB 07-02-1995
3001 South Chester Ave.
5’7”, 140, Blk. Hair, Brn. Eyes.
Samuel Bryant was arrested on 02/19/12 at 10:00 pm as he was leaving a
local hospital.
