Narcotics Seizure News Release
On Monday 02/27/12 at 5:01 PM, a Bakersfield Police Department K-9 officer
conducted a traffic stop in the 11000 Block of Rosedale Highway for a Vehicle
Code violation. During the stop, the police K-9 alerted on the vehicle. A search of
the vehicle located approximately 25.71 pounds of suspected Crystal
Methamphetamine, having a street value of $1.25 million dollars.
The driver, Jorge Mendez, 24, of Shafter, California was arrested and booked into
the Kern County Jail for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of
Methamphetamine for Sales, and Transportation of Methamphetamine.
