On Monday, March 5, 2012, at approximately 3:30pm, the suspect in this case,
identified as
Charles Martin, 23, of Bakersfield,
turned himself in to Detectives at the Bakersfield Police Department. Martin was
later booked into the Kern County Jail for Murder. The firearm used in the offense
was recovered. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is

On Monday, March 5, 2012, Officers of the Bakersfield Police
Department responded to a domestic violence dispute at 1916 Hasti Acres Drive
apartment #D. Upon arrival, the officers found the male victim deceased from an
apparent gunshot wound.
The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arrival.
A short time later a male subject arrived at the Bakersfield police Department and
told officers he had been involved in a shooting on Hasti Acres Drive.
The investigation is ongoing.
