March 7, 2012
On March 5th 2012, at 6:24 p.m. Officers of the Bakersfield Police Department
responded to a hit and run collision in the 3000 block of 24th Street. Upon arrival, they
found an adult male suffering from major injuries. He had apparently been walking on
or near the south shoulder of the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle which fled
the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Witnesses indicate the suspect vehicle was a light colored (possibly grey) pickup truck.
Investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is urged to call the Bakersfield
Police Department at 327 – 7111.
