A RESOLUTION OF THE BAKERSFIELD
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF TAX- DEFAULTED PROPERTIES
LOCATED WITHIN THE SOUTHEAST BAKERSFIELD
REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA.
WHEREAS, the County of Kern Treasurer and Tax Collector ( "KCTTC ") notified
the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency ( "Agency ") that it will offer for sale at public
auction to the highest bidder certain tax - defaulted properties located within the
Southeast Bakersfield Redevelopment Project Area; and
WHEREAS, prior to the date that KCTTC published the first notice of the
proposed sale of those properties, the Agency notified KCTTC that it desired to
purchase five (5) of the tax - defaulted properties for redevelopment purposes; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code section 3791.3, the
Agency, may purchase tax - defaulted properties by submitting a resolution authorizing
the sale and an executed purchase agreement; and
WHEREAS, three (3) of the properties the Agency desired to purchase have
been redeemed; and
WHEREAS, the Agency desires to purchase two (2) properties which have been
slated for sale to benefit low- and moderate - income persons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Bakersfield Redevelopment
Agency as follows:
1. That the above recitals are true and correct.
2. That the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency authorizes the purchase of
the following tax - defaulted properties from the County of Kern:
Assessor's Parcel No. 018 - 290- 13 -00 -2 — 301 Owens Street
Assessor's Parcel No. 139 - 432- 02 -00 -6 — 19 Milham Street
3. That the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency authorizes the requisite
Agency officials to execute the purchase agreement attached hereto as
Exhibit "A ".

4. The Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency directs the Secretary to forward
certified copies of this Resolution and executed copies of the purchase
agreement attached hereto to the Kern County Treasurer and Tax
Collector.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency at a regular meeting thereof
held on SEP 8 2003 , by the following vote:

EXHIBIT "A"

AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE TAX- DEFAULTED PROPERTY
This Agreement is made this day of , 2003, by and between the Board of Supervisors of
Kern County, State of California and the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency ( "PURCHASER "), pursuant to the
provisions of Division 1 Part 6, Chapter 8 of the Revenue and Taxation Code.
The real property situated within said County, hereinafter set forth and described in Exhibit "A ", attached hereto and
made a part hereof, is tax - defaulted and is subject to the power of sale by the Treasurer -Tax Collector of said County for
the nonpayment of taxes, pursuant to provisions of law.
It is mutually agreed as follows:
1. That provided by Section 3800 of the Revenue and Taxation Code, the cost of giving notice of this agreement
shall be paid by the PURCHASER, and
2. That the PURCHASER agrees to pay the sum of $12,250.00 for the real property described in Exhibit "A"
within 14 days after the date this Agreement becomes effective. Upon payment of said sum to the Treasurer -
Tax Collector, the Treasurer -Tax Collector shall execute and deliver a deed conveying title to said property
to PURCHASER.
This Agreement shall be null and void if all or any portion of the property is redeemed prior to the effective date of this
Agreement. This Agreement shall also become null and void and the right of redemption restored upon the
PURCHASER'S failure to comply with the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

This Agreement was submitted to me before execution by the Board of Supervisors and I have compared the same with
the records of Kern County relating to the real property described therein.
Kern County Treasurer -Tax Collector
Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 3775 and 3795 of the Revenue and Taxation Code, the State Controller agrees to
the selling price as set forth and approves the foregoing agreement this day of , 2003.
