The Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Joint Vice Task Force
Along With ABC Investigators Worked A Joint Operation To Suppress Prostitution Activity Near
Licensed ABC Establishments.
The Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Department Joint Vice Task
Force (JVTF) along with ABC investigators have arrested FIFTEEN persons for prostitution
related crimes in the area of licensed ABC establishments on May 9, 2012.
During this operation, three female Bakersfield Police officers and one female ABC
investigator were acting as prostitutes at a local motel, which is located near three ABC
licensed establishments.
All fifteen of the subjects contacted by the female officers were arrested for violation of P.C.
647(b) (soliciting prostitution).
Funding for this operation was provided by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage
Control (ABC) Grant Assistance Program. ABC is a Department of the Business,
Transportation and Housing Agency, which is under the direction of Secretary Dale E. Bonner,
a member of the Governor’s Cabinet.
