Original Release May 1, 2012 The Bakersfield Police Department is continuing its investigation into the shooting which occurred on 04/30/2012 in the 1200 Block of Virginia. During the shooting a two year old female was struck by a bullet and later died. Detectives are attempting to identify two groups of male subjects who were involved in an argument just prior to the shooting taking place. One of the groups was described as Hispanic males occupying a dark blue possible Lincoln Navigator. A witness stated the shots possibly came from the Navigator. Anyone with information on the identity of any of the subjects involved is urged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 326-7111 or Detective James Moore at (661) 326-3540. The Secret Witness Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and filing of a criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for the shooting which resulted in the death of the two year old victim.
