May 21, 2012
On 05/21/2011 at 12:48 AM officers of the Bakersfield Police Department were dispatched to
Mercy Hospital, 2215 Truxtun Avenue, to a report of two victims suffering from gunshot
wounds. Upon arrival officers discovered an adult male and an adult female had been shot
elsewhere and were transported by private conveyance to the hospital. The adult male suffered
moderate injuries and the female succumbed to her injuries.
Detectives responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The name of the victims is
being withheld pending notification of the family. The investigation revealed that the shooting
occurred in the 200 block Donna Street. This case is being investigated as possibly being gang
related.
