The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying suspects wanted for
assault with a deadly weapon and other weapons violations.
04/08/12, at about 3:49 a.m., Bakersfield Police responded to 5482 California Avenue for reports of gunfire in the
parking lot of the Hookah Lounge. When officers arrived all the involved suspects and victims had apparently fled.
Investigation revealed there had been a fight between two groups of male suspects and as a result of the fight
multiple suspects shot at each other. Although no victims were located at the scene, CHP stopped a speeding
motorist who was transporting Carl Bermudez 26 to the hospital for multiple gunshot wounds the chest and arm.
No other victims have been located.
The attached video surveillance photos are of two separate vehicles which were driven or occupied by suspects who
participated in the gunfire assault.
One vehicle appears to be a maroon or red 1990s model Camaro with chrome wheels, the other appears to be a
dark, possibly blue SUV with chrome strips on the sides, a rack on top and damage to the rear window frame
from the gunfire.
Anyone with information regarding these two vehicles or this incident is encouraged to call Detective Rick Dossey at
326-3513.
