RESOLUTION OF INTENTI3ON TO IMPROVE
STREET DISTRICT N0. lOd'Y IN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,FORNIA,
AND TO ISSUE BONDS IN PAYMENT THEREFOR.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
That it is the intention of the City Council of the City
of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and improve-
ment to be made in said City, to -wit:
SECTION 1.
That 17th Street between the easterly line of K Street
and the westerly line of Union Avenue, and L Street between the
northerly line of 17th Street and the southerly line of 19th Street
be improved by the construction and installation thereon of an
ornamental electrolier street lighting system with seventy -two
(72) electrolier standards and all necessary conduit and appurten-
ances, including electrolier standards of the Union Metal Manu-
facturing Company, design No. 1891, built to obtain a light center
of fifteen (15) feet and ten (10) inches, complete as described,
with Catalogue No. 280382 General Electric Form 12 Novelux Unit,
and Catalogue No. 4X569, General Electric I. L. Transformer. All
eleetroliers are to be set on Portland Cement concrete foundations
as shown on the plan for said work.
Also, that conduit be installed to transformer locations
for connection to current supply lines.
All of said work and improvement is to be done in ac-
cordance with the plans and specifications heretofore and on the
day of , 190, adopted by the City Coun-
cil of the City of Bakersfield, said plans being entitled "PLAN
FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF STREET DISTRICT N0. boy" and said spec-
ifications being entitled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF
STREET DISTRICT NO. �007)""" and which said plans and specifica-
tions are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by such reference made
a part and portion hereof.
Attention is called to the License Agreement of the Street
Lighting & Equipment Company of California, of date
1930, and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
And where s said contemplated work and improvement in
the opinion of the said City Council is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the costs and
expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district,
which district said City Council hereby declares to be the district
benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the
costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and
described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the easterly line of K Street
148.5 feet northerly from the northerly line of 17th Street;
thence easterly and parallel with the northerly line of 17th
Street 132 feet; thence northerly and parallel with the westerly
line of L Street to the southerly line of 19th Street; thence
easterly along the southerly line of 19th Street to a point 132
feet easterly from the easterly line of L Street; thence south-
erly and parallel with the easterly line of L Street to a point
148.5 feet northerly from the northerly line of 17th Street; thence
easterly and parallel with the northerly line of 17th Street to
the easterly line of 0 Street; thence southerly along the easterly
line of 0 Street 6.5 feet; thence easterly and parallel with the
northerly line of 17th Street to the westerly line of 0, Street;
thence northerly along the westerly line of 2 Street 6.5 feet;
thence easterly and parallel with the northerly line of 17th
Street to the westerly line of the Kruse Tract; thence southerly
along said westerly line of the Kruse Tract 6.5 feet; thence
easterly and parallel with the northerly line of 17th Street to
the westerly line of Union Avenue; thence southerly along the
westerly line of Union Avenue to a point 142 feet southerly from
the southerly line of 17th Street; thence westerly and parallel
with the southerly line of 17th Street to the westerly line of
the Kruse Tract; thence southerly along said westerly line of
the Kruse Tract 6.5 feet; thence westerly and parallel with the
southerly line of 17th Street to the easterly line of K Street;
thence northerly along the easterly line of K Street to the
point of beginning.
All in the City of Bakersfield, California, as shown
on maps thereof filed in the office of the County Recorder, as
follows:
"Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, Calif-
ornia" filed November 25, 1898.
"Map of the First Subdivision of the Kruse Tract,"
filed August 3, 1911.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent
unpaid assessments and bear interest at the rate of seven (7 %)
per cent per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner pro-
vided by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and all acts amenda-
tory thereof, the last installment of which bonds shall mature
four years from the 2nd day of July next succeeding ten months
from their date.
Except as hereinabove otherwise provided for the issu-
ance of said serial bonds all of the herein proposed work shall
be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State
of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", approved
April 7th, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof.
Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the Z� y of
1930, at 8 o'clock P. M. at a regular meeting
of the said City Council in the Council Chambers of said City
Council in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, any and
all persons having any objections to the proposed work or im-
provement may appear before said City Council and show cause why
said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance
with said Resolution.
The City Clerk of said City of Bakers f ie14 shall cause
this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the The
Bakersfield Californian, a daily newspaper printed, published
and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby desig-
nated for that purpose by said City Council.
The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield
shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said
contemplated work and improvement and along all the open streets
within said district, notice of the passage of this Resolution
Of Intention in the manner and form required by law, and in
said notice he shall call attention to the License Agreement
of the Street Lightinn-g and Equipment Company of California, of

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of In-
tention was regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the Coun-
cil of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting of said Coun-
cil held on the /72'3k day of , 1930, by the
