RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CLOSE
THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 242, KERN, Il
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of
Bakersfield to order the closing of the alley herein described;
and that the lands included within the boundaries of such portion
as described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual right
and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property described
herein, for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing, installing,
laying, maintaining or repairing the following:
A sewer line and all of its component parts used or enjoyed
in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of sanita-
tion; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire pro-
tection and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also water pipes
and connections for the distribution of a domestic water supply; also
any other public system or thing and all of its component parts
which may be used and enjoyed in connection therewith, that the City
of Bakersfield may desire to pl +ce, or to have placed therein:
The alley in Block 242, Kern, as said alley is shown on
that certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern
Co4Uty, Call fornia"showing East Bakersfield, formerly Sumner, filed
in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, California,
January 12, 1889.
All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be
done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of Cal-
ifornia, entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING,
EXTENDING, WIDENING, STRAIGHTENING OR CLOSING UP, IN WHOLE OR IN
PART ANY STREET, SgUAhE, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WITHIN MUNICI-
PALITIES AND .'40 :ONDEMN AND ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LAND NECESSARY OR
CONVENIENT FOh TEAT PURPOSE" approved March 6th, 1889 and the sev-
eral acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
The The Bakersfield Californian is hereby designated as
the daily newspaper published and circulated In said City in which
the Street Superintendent's notice of the passage of this Resolution

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the
day of 1930$ by the following vote:
