RESOLI TION OF' INTENTION TO
CLOSE: TH]_P ALLEY IN BLOCK 397,
CITY OF BAKERSF'IELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL 0F' THE CITY 0i, BAKERSb'IELD,
as follows:
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of
Bakersfield to order the closing of the alley herein described;
and that the lands included within the boundaries of such portion
as described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual right
and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property described
herein, for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing, install-
ing, laying, maintaining or repairing the following:
A sewer line and all of its component parts used or en-
joyed in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of
sanitation; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire
protection and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also water pipes
and connections for the distribution of a domestic water supply;
also any other public system or thing and all of its component parts
which may be used and enjoyed in connection therewith, that the City
of Bakersfield may desire to place, or to have placed therein.
The alley in Block 397 as said block is shown on that
certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County,
California" filed in the office of the County Recorder of Kern
County, California, November 25, 1898.
All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be
done in pursuance of an act of the Le -,islature of the State of
California, entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE F'OR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING,
EXTE't!DING, ',yTDENING, STRAIGHTENING OR CLOSING UP, IN ,'MOLE OR IN
PART ANY STREET, SQi,ARF:, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLPCE WITHIN T.TNICI-
PALITIE" AND TO CONDEMN AN ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LAND, NECESSARY OR
rnNVENIENT F'OR THAT PURPOSE" approved March 6, 1889, and the several
acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
The district benefited by said closing is described as
follows: All of Block 397 as said block is shown on that certain
map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, Calif-
ornia" filed in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County,
November 25, 1898.
The The Bakersfield Californian is hereby designated
as the daily newspaper published and circulated in said City
in which the Street Superintendentts notice of the passage of
this Resolution shall be published.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
