HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 0615RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CLOSE A PORTION OF 31ST STREET IN THE CITY OF BAl RSFIELD, CALIFORNIA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSI =IELD, as follows; That it is the intention of the Council of the City of Bakersfield to order the closing of the following described portion of 31st Street; and that the lands included within the bound- arias of such portion as described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual right and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property described herein, for the purpose of constructing, recon- structing, installing, laying, maintaining or repairing the following; A sewer line and all of its component parts used or enjoyed in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of sanita- tion; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire protec- tion and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also water pipes and connections for the distribution of a domestic water supply; also any other public system or thing and all of its component parts which may be used and enjoyed in connection therewith, that the City of Bakers- field may desire to place, or to have placed therein. That the following described portion of 31st Street between the westerly line of Chester Avenue and the northeaster]y line of Bolden State Avenue be closed and the land included within the boundaries of such portion as described be abandoned. The lands necessary and convenient to be abandoned for said purpose are particularly described as follows; Beginning at the point formed by the intersection of the westerly line, of Chester Avenue and the northerly line of 31st Street, as said streets and avenue are shown on that certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California" recorded in the Office of the County Recorder of'Kern County, California.0 November 25, -1- 1898; and running thence westerly along the northerly line of said 31st Street to the northeasterly line of Golden State Avenue as said Golden State Avenue is established and acquired by "Acquisition and Improve- ment District No. 3" of the County of Kern, California; thence southeasterly along the northeasterly line of said Golden State Avenue to the southerly line of 31st Street; thence easterly along the southerly line of 31st Street to the westerly line of Chester Avenue; thence northerly along the westerly line of Chester Avenue to the northerly line of 31st Street and the point of beginning. Excepting, however, from the above described parcel of land a portion thereof described as follows; Beginning at a point in the northerly line of 31st Street 122 feet westerly from the westerly line of Chester Avenue; thence southerly and parallel with the westerly line of Chester Avenue 82.5 Peet to the southerly line of 31st Street; thence westerly along the southerly line of 31st Street a distance of 20 feet; thence northerly and parallel with the westerly line of Chester Avenue 82.5 feet, to the northerly line of 31st Street; thence easterly along the northerly line of 31st Street a distance of 20 feet to the point of beginning; being the extension southerly of the alley running northerly and southerly through Block 605, City of Bakersfield. All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING, EXTENDING, WIDENING, STRAIGHTENING OR CLOSING UP, IN WHOLE OR IN PART ANY STREET, SQUARE, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES AND TO CONDEMN AND ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LAND NECESSARY OR CONVENIENT FOR THAT PURPOSE" approved March 6, 1889, and the several acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto. The district benefited by said closing is described as follows; -2- The southerly one -half (J) of Block 605, and the northerly one -half (J) of Block 576 as said Blocks are shown on that certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California" recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, November 25, 1898, except from the northerly one -half (J) of Block 576 above described that portion acquired for Golden State Avenue by "Acquisition and Improvement District No. 3" of the County of Kern, California The The Bakersfield Californian is hereby designated as the daily newspaper published and circulated in said City in which the Street Superintendent's notice of the passage of this Resolution shall be published. - - - ---- 000 « - - -- I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the /&today of , 1934, by the following vote; AYES, RODEN GIST, SIEMON, SMITH, SOLLERS, WRLTERS, WILSON NOES, ABBE y larx an c o Clerk 5T we Council of the City of Bakersfield.
