RESOLUTION OY lNTEiTION TO CLOSE
A PORTION OF' 25TH STREET IN TH:E
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY TILL COUNCIL OI' THE CITY OF' RAIC;RSI'IELD,
as follows:
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of
Bakersfield to order the closing of a portion of 25tH Street; and.
that the lands included within the boundaries of such portion as
described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual right and
easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property described
herein, for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing, install-
ing, laying, maintaining; or repairing the following:
A sewer line and all of its component parts used or en-
joyed in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of
sanitation; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire
protection and all appurtenances thereto belongin }�;; also water pipes
and connections for the distribution of a domestic water supply;
also any other public system or trying and all of its component parts
which may be used and enjoyed in connect on therew th, that the City
of Bakersfield may desire to place, or to have placed therein.
That the following described portion of 25th Street between
the easterly line of Q Street and the Southwesterly line o' Golden
State Avenue be closed and the land included within the boundaries of
such portion as described be abandoned.
The lands necessary and convenient to be abandoned for such
purpose are particularly described as follows: Beginnin,_; at the
point formed by the intersection of the easterly line of Q Street and
the southerly line of 25th Street as said Streets are shown on that
certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County,
California" recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Kern
County, California, November 25, 1898; and running thence easterly
along the southerly line of 25th Street to the southwesterly line of

Golden State Avenue as said Golden State Avenue is established and
acquired by "ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 3" of the
County of Kern, California; thence northwesterly along the south-
westerly line of said Golden State Avenue to the northerly line of
25th Street; thence westerly along the northerly line of 25th Street
to the easterly line of Q Street; thence southerly along the easterly
line of Q Street to the southerly line of 25th Street and the point
of beginning.
Excepting, however, from the above described parcel of
land a portion thereof' described as follows: Beginning at a point in
the southerly line of 25th Street 122 feet easterly from the easterly
line of Q Street; thence northerly and parallel with the easterly line
of Q Street 52.32 feet to the southwesterly line of Golden State
Avenue; thence southeasterly along the southwesterly line of Gol.Jen
State Avenue a distance of 22.24 feet; thence southerly and parallel
with the easterly line of .Q Street 42.82 feet to the southerly line
of 25th Street; thence westerly along the southcrly lire of 25th
Street a distance of 20 feet to the point of beginning; being the
extension northerly of the alley running northerly and southerly
through Block 133, City of Bakersfield.
All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be
done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of
California, entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE YOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENII•1G,
ElvIIIENDING, `i�DENII ^]G, STRAIGIITENIIiG OR CLOSIP]G UP, IN 7'HOL1 01-L IN
PART ANY STREET, SQUAhlll, LrIli',, ALL11Y, „OTJRT OR PL_ CE Z'ITHIN MIUNICI-
PALITIES AND TO CONDEMN AND ACQIJIIi' ANY AND ALL LANL NECESSARY OR
CONVENIENT FOR THAT PURPOSE" approved March 6, 1889, and the several
acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
The district benefited by said closir4; is described as
follows: The northerly one -half (J) of Block 133, and the southerly
one -half (J) of Block 106 as said Blocks are shown on that certain

map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, Calif-
ornia" recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County,
California, November 25, 1898, excepting from the northerly one -half
O of Block 133 and the southerly one -half (J) of Block 106 above
described that portion acquired for Golden State Avenue by "ACQUISI-
TION AND IMPkOV EME]'JT DISTRICT NO. 3" of the County of Kern, Calif -

The The Bakersfield Californian is hereby designated as
the daily newspaper published and circulated in said City in which
the Street Superintendent's notice of the passaEe of this Resolution
shall be published.
I IM. -_EBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the
clay of April, 1935, by the following vote:
