BE IT RESOLVE-`D BY THE COUNCIL OF T,,E CITY OF BAKENSFIELD, as follows: That it is the intention.of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and improve- ment to be made in said City, to -wit: SECTION 1. To construct gutters on the following streets: Second Street, between Oleander Avenue and H Street. Verde Street, between Oleander Avenue and H Street. First Street, between Oleander Avenue and H Street. Brundage Lane, between Oleander Avenue and H Street. F Street, between Bank Street and Brundage Lane All as shown on the plans on file in the office of the City Clerk. SECTION 2. All of the above work shall be done to such grades as are shown on the plan and profiles for said work and are hereby estab- lished as the official grades for the doing of said work and the making of said improvement. All of said work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications here- tofore and on the -jZA. y day of / � _, 1938, adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, said plan and profiles be- ing delineated on a drawing entitled "PLAN FOR PUBLIC I.TPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 623 ", and said specifications being entitled "SPFCIP'ICA- TIONS FOR PUBLIC LI2ROV:Ei.C;21T DISTRICT NO. 623 IN THE CITY OF BAKERS - FIELD, CALIFORIIA ", and which said plan and specifications are on -1- file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof, and in this connection the said plan, profiles and specifications also show the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. AND WHEREAS said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of the City Council is of more than local or ordinary pub- lic benefit, said Council hereby makes the cost and expense of said work and improvement, with the exception hereinafter set out, chargeable upon a district, which district said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Brundage Lane and the westerly line of H Street; running thence northerly along the westerly line of H Street to the southerly line of Bank Street; thence westerly along the southerly line of Bank Street to the easterly line of Oleander Avenue; thence southerly along the easterly line of Oleander Avenue to the center line of "rundage Lane; thence easterly along; the center line of Brundage Lane to the westerly line of H Street and the point of beginning. All as shown on "Idap of Laguna Square" filed April 24, 1917, in Book 3 of Naps at page 17, Kern County Records. All in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California. AND WHEREAS the Works Progress Administration, an agency of the government of the United States, accepts the proposed work as a project, for which a contribution of all the labor is made by such agency, AND ?.lMktEAS, the City of Bakersfield proposes to pay all of -2- the cost of engineering and incidental expenses of said work and improvement, the Council declares that none of said work above described shall be paid for by the district but shall be paid for by the respective agencies above set out, and that only the materials to be delivered and used on said streets shall be paid for by said district. All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7th, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. Notice is hereby given that on /the 3//2-4 day of T11938, at 8 o'clock P. M. at a regular meeting of said City Council in the Council Chamber of said City Council in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield any and all persons having objections to the proposed work and improvement may appear before said City Coun- cil and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the The Bakersfield Californian, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council. The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said con- templated work and improvement and along the open streets within said district notice of the passage of this Resolution of Inten- tion in the manner and form required by law, and. shall state in said notice the contributions to be made by the City of Bakersfield and the Works Progress Administration and shall recite what contri- bution is to be made by each of them. -3- I HE'?EBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Inten- tion was regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting of said Council ? - held on the day of 1938, by the following vote: q"(A AYES: BODEM, GIST, V;'34M!Mt!, MJt,!LU%M- 5teaTt% SOLUM, WILSON HOES.......... ...... .................................. . . ... .............. ........................ .......
