RESOLUTION OF IIrMNTION TO CLOSE A PORTION
OF THE ALLEY IN FRACTIONAL BLOCK 529, CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of
Bakersfield to order the closing of that portion of an alley herein
described; and that the lands included within the boundaries of such
portion, as described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual
right and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property
described herein, for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing,
installing, laying, maintaining or repairing the following:
A sewer line and all of its component parts used or
enjoyed in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities
of sanitation; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for
fire protection and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also
water pipes and connections for the distribution of a domestic water
supply; also any other public system or thing and all of its
component parts which may be used and enjoyed in connection there-
with, that the City of Bakersfield may desire to place, or to have
placed therein.
All of that portion of the alley in Block 529 lying
southerly of Golden State Avenue, as said Block 529 is laid out and
shown on that certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield,
Kern County, California ", filed in the office of the County Recorder
of Kern County, November 25, 1898, in Map Book 1, pages 13 and 14.
All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be
done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of Calif-
ornia, entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING,
EXTENDING, WIDENING, STRAIGHTENING OR CLOSING UP, IN WHOLE OR IN
PART, ANY STREET, SQUARE, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WITHIN MUNICI-
PALITIES AND TO CONDEMN AND ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LAND NECESSARY OR

CONVENIENT FOR THAT PURPOSE" approved March 6, 1889, and the
several acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
The district benefited by said closing is described as
follows: All of that portion of Block 529 lying southerly of
Golden State Avenue, as said Block 529 is laid out and shown on
that certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern
County, California ", filed in the office of the County Recorder
of said Kern County, November 25, 1898, in Map Book 1, pages
13 and 14.
The The Bakersfield Californian is hereby designated
as the daily newspaper published and circulated in said City in
which the Street Superintendent's notice of the passage of this
Resolution shall be published.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on the
day of May, 1941, by the following vote:
