A RESOLUTION OP' 110'!dqTIO,� TO CL061, T.6J ALLEY Iii BLOCKS 265 AND 264, AND TO CLOSE A � ORTIONI OF S 8TEEET, I ViP; CITY Oi BE Iii' iAEi�uLVED BY THE GOU!,�GIL OP' Tn'h CITY 011' as follows: That it is the intention of the Council of the City Of Bakersfield to order the closing of the alley and- portion of a street herein described, and that the lands included within the boundaries of such portion, as described, be ab�_ndoned; save and except the perpetual right and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property described herein for the purpose of construct- ing, reconstructing, installing, laying, maintaining or repairing the following: A sewer line and all of its component parts used or enjoyed in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of sanitation; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire protection and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also water pipes and connections for the distribution of a domestic water supply; also any other public system or thing and all of its component parts which may be used and enjoyed in connection there- with, that the City of Bakersfield may desire to place or to have placed therein: (a) All of that certain alley, diminished to twenty (20) fret in width by Resolution of the Council of the City of Bakers- field, 6eptember 29, 1930, and described in Resolution of Intention No. 605, running easterly and westerly in blocks 265 and 264, ltlap of the City of Bakersfield, as per map thereof recorded November 25, 1898, in Book 1 at pages 13 and 14 of Maps, Records of Kern County, California, extending from the East line of r, Street to the Westerly night-of-7v8y line of the Kern Island. Canal (formerly -1- known as Old South Fork Canal) as it now exists; and from the Easterly Right-of-ivay line of the aforesaid Cnrn Island Canal to the West line of 6 Street; and from the Last line of' 6 Street to the Westerly Right-of—,jay line of the Mill Ditch (formerly known as the Kern Island Canal) as it now exists. (b) All of that portion of 8 Street lying between the North line of 17th Street and the South line of Street not heretofore closed by the above mentioned Resolution, as described in said Resolution of Intention ivfo. 605. All of the herein proposed worl.,- and improvement shall be done in pur�;uance of an act of the Le6-islature of the State of California, entitled "AN ACT To PROVIDE FOR TIRE LaYI-114(i OUT, OP1 i\,I dG, EXTEivDING, WIDENING, STRAIG=1;NING OR CLOSING UP, I,,\,, vPHOLE OR IN PART, ANY STREET, 6GUARF, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WIT14IN MUNICIPALITIES AND TO CONDEMN A1,.TD ACQT]IRE ANY iND ALL LAND 11JFCE6,�,'A_RY 0',, CONVENIENT FOR THAT PURPOSE", approved Larch 6, 1889, and the several acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto. The district benefited by said clos.11-ni- is described as follows: A1.1 of the 'best One-Half of the aforesaid Block 264, and all of the aforesaid Bloc. 265, as said blocks are laid out and shown on that certain map entitled ".Map of the City of Bakersfield, ;,{r,rn County, Calif.'orniall, filed in the office of the County Recorder of said Kern County, November 25, in lv',ap Boo1, 1, pages 13 and 14.
