HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 0639RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NOr 619 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CLOSE A CERTAIN PORTION OF M STREET IN THE CITY OF BAKERS - FIELD, CALIFORNIA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: That it is the intention of the Council of the City of Bakersfield to order the closing of that portion of M Street herein described; and that the lands included within the boundaries of such portion, as described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual right and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property described herein for the purpose of constructing, recon- structing, installing, laying, maintaining or repairing the follow- ing: A sewer line and all of its component parts used or enjoy- ed in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of sanitation; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire protection and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also water pipes and connections for the distribution of a domestic water supply; also any other public system or thing and all of its component parts which may be used and enjoyed in connection therewith, that the City of Bakersfield may desire to place, or to have placed therein. All of that certain portion of M Street from the northerly line of 30th Street to the southerly line of 31st Street, as said streets are laid out and shown on that certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California ", filed in the office of the County Recorder of said Kern County, November 25, 1898, in flap Book 1, pages 13 and 14. All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of -1- California, entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING, EXTENDING, iNIDEPiING, STRAIGHTENIlaG OR CLOSING UP, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, ANY STREET, SQUARE, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES AND TO COIMF21N AND ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LAND NECESSARY OR COPiVENIENT FOR THAT PURPOSE ", approved March 6, 1889, and the several acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto. The district benefited by said closing is described as follows: All of Block 580, and all of that portion of Block 579 lying northeasterly of the right of way of the Southern Pacific Company, as said Blocks 580 and 579 are laid out and shown on the aforesaid Nap of the City of Bakersfield.
