as follows&
That it Is the intention of the Council of Mile City of Bakers-
field to order the closing of that portion of 5pruce L;treet and
Desch Street herein described; and that the lands included within
the boundaries of such portion$ as described, be abandoned; save and
except the perpetual right and easement to use and enjoy any or all
of the property described herein for the purpose of constructing,
reconstructing$ installing$ layInCt maintaining or repairing the
followings
A sewer line and all of its component parts used or enjoyed
in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of sanita-
tion; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire protection
and all appurtenances thereto belonlgink; also water pipes and connections
for the distribution of a oomestic water supply; also any other public
system or thing and all of its component parts which may be used and
enjoyed in connection therewith, that the City of Bakersfield may
desire to place, or to have placed therein.
• (a) All that certain portion of Spruce street lying between
the southerly line of Truxtun Avenue and the northerly line of 16th
Street excepting therefrom a strip of land 20 feet wide across said
Spruce Streetq distant 122 feet southerly from and parallel with the
southerly line of Truxtun AvelV109 as said streets are shown and '
delineated On M&P of the City of Bakersfield recorded November 251
