A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CLOSE A.
PORTION OF SONORA, STREET BETWEEN ThE
SOUTHERLY LINE ON ALPI1'M STREET AND
UNI0_J AVENUE, IN ThLe CITY OF BAiMRS-
.teIELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE I`1' HESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL Or THE CITY Or BA- MRSFIELD, as
follows:
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of Bakers-
field to order the closing of a portion of Sonora Street as hereinafter
described; and t' -tat the lands included within the boundaries of such
portion as described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual
ri *ht and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property described
herein for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing, installing,
laying, maintaining or repairing the following:
A sewer line and all of its component parts used or enjoyed
in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of sanita-
tion; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for fire pro-
tection and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also water pipes and
connections for the distribution of a domestic water supply; also any
other public system or tiding and all of its component parts which may
be used and enjoyed in connection therewith, that the City of :Ba',ers-
field may desire to place, or to have placed therein:
All that portion of Sonora Street lying between the Southerly
line of Alpine Street and the Easterly line of Union Avenue as said
streets are sho rn and delineated on ,tap of 3ai ersf'ield, `ern County,
California, recorded January 12, 1339, in Boots 1 of paps at pages 15
and 10, Aecords of 'Kern County, California, described as follows:
-beginning at the point of intersection of the Northerly
line of Block 243 and the ',,Westerly line of Sonora Street
as said Sonora Street was established by deed from J. R.
and Delia .illiams, recorded in Book 32, Official Records,
at page 299, Records of Kern County, California; thence
South 29° 07' 50" 1,7est along the 9esterly line of Sonora
Street a distance of 233.21 feet to the Easterly line of
Union Avenue; thence South 39° 57' 30" East a distance
of 20'.609 feet to a point; thence North 29° 07' 0" East

a distance of 275.079 feet to a point in the 'lesterly
extension of the Southerly line of Alpine Street;
thence North 73" 52' 50" West, along the ; +esterly ex-
tension of the Southerly line of Alpine ;street a dis-
tance of 25.659 feet to the point of beginning.
All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be done
in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California,

thereof or supplemental thereto.
The district benefited by said closing is 13lock 243, as shown
and delineated on D:'.ap of 3akersfield, Kern County, California, re-
corded January 12, 1359, in hook 1 of iaaps at pages 15 and 16, Records
of _Kern County, California.
The Bakersfield Californian is hereby designated as the daily
newspaper published and circulated in said City in which the Street
Superintendent's notice of the passage of this Resolution shall be
published.
