HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 0659RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 659. RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE PUBLIC DUMVIONT DISTRICT NO. 659 IN THE CITY Or BAKERSFIELD9 CALIFORNIA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAiCERSF'IELD, as follows: That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, to order the following work to be done and improvement to be wade in said City, to wits SECTION 1. To construct sanitary sewers of six (6) inch cement concrete soarer pipe in Blocks 201, 2029 2139 214, 215 and 216 Kern Division, and in Miller Street, all in the City of Bakersfield. SECTION 2. To construct manholes and lampholes as shown on the plan for said work and to place "Y" branches for house connections at each and every lot, piece, or parcel of land in the district, the exact location of said "Y" branches to be designated by the City Engineer. All of said work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the plan and profile approved by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, and adopted by said Council on the 7th day of October, 1946, said plan being entitled OMAN-AND PROFILE FOR PUBLIC IMPROVE - MW DISTRICT NO. 659," and which said plan and profile is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and is hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof, and in this connection said plan and profile also shows the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. The proceedings herein were recommended in writing by the Health Officer of the City of Bakersfield on the lst day of July, 1946, as necessary as a health measure and said recommendation was spread upon the minutes of the Council of the City of Bakersfield, and that on the 7th day of October, 1946, such necessity was found to exist by 1. Resolution of the City Council adopted by an affirmative vote of more than four - fifths of the members thereof, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2808 of the Streets and Highways Code. Said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of said City Council is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and said Council hereby makes the costs and expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the Westerly line of Beale Avenue with the Northerly line of Chico Street; thence Easterly along the Northerly line of Chico Street to the Easterly line of Robinson Street; thence Southerly along the Southerly extension of the Easterly line of Robinson Street to the Southerly line of East California Avenue; thence Easterly along the Southerly line of East California Avenue to the extension Southerly of the Easterly line of Miller Street; thence Northerly along the Southerly extension of the Easterly line of Miller Street and the Easterly line of Miller Street to the Southerly line of Dolores Street; thence Westerly along the Southerly line of Dolores Street to a point 25 feet Easterly from the Easterly line of Robinson Street; thence Northerly and parallel with the Easterly line of Robinson Street to the Southerly line of Eureka Street; thence Westerly along the Southerly line of Eureka Street to the Westerly line of Owens Street; thence Southerly along the Westerly line of Owens Street to the Northerly line of Dolores Street; thence Westerly along the Northerly line of Dolores Street to the Westerly line of Beale Avenue; thence Southerly along the Westerly line of Beale Avenue to the Point of beginning. All as shown and delineated on Map of the City of Bakersfield, recorded January 12, 1889, in Book 1 of Maps at page 15, Records of Kern County, California. All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 19111" approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 28th day of October, 1946, at 8 o'clock P. M., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Bakersfield, California, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time 2. and place when and where all persons having any, objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the The Bakersfield Californians a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council and shall give notice by mail of the adoption of said Resolution of Intention. The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said contemplated work and improvement and along all the open streets within said district, notice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manner and form required by law. - - - - - -- 000- - - - - -- 3• I HMMY CBRTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of October, 1946, by the following vote: AY .
