HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 0666RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0. 666 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 666 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, to order the following work to be done and improve- ment to be made in said City, to wit: SECTION 1. The widening of a portion of 23rd Street with asphalt concrete pavement, resurfacing existing pavement with plant -mixed asphaltic surfacing material and the removal and construction of cement concrete curbs and gutters to provide additional width for roadway area of said street. All of said work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the plan and profile approved by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, and adopted by said Council on the 17th day of Burch, 1947, said plan being entitled "Flan and Profile for the Improvement of 23rd Street Between G Street and Chester Avenue, "and more particu- larly described in the specifications entitled "Specifications, Information to Bidders, Special Provisions, Bid Proposal and Contract for Public Improvement District No. 666." Said plan and specifications are on file with the City Clerk and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a. part and portion hereof. Said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of said City Council is of more than local or ordinary, public benefit, and said Council hereby makes the costs and expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work and improve- ment and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as followss 1. Beginning at the intersection of the north line of 23rd Street with the westerly line of Chester .Avenue; thence northerly along the westerly line of Chester .Avenue to a point in a line, distant northerly, 132 feet measured at a right angle from the northerly line of 23rd Street; thence westerly along a line distant northerly 132 feet from and parallel to the northerly line of 23rd Street and the westerly pro- longation thereof to a point in the center line of G Street; thence southerly along the center line of G Street to a point in the westerly prolongation of a line distant southerly 132 feet, measured at a right angle from the southerly line of 23rd Street; thence easterly along a line distant southerly 132 feet from and parallel to the southerly line of 23rd Street and the westerly prolongation thereof to a point in the westerly line of Chester Avenue; thence northerly along the westerly line of Chester Avenue to the point of beginning. All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7, 1%1, and all acts amendatory thereof. Notice is hereby given that on Monday, the 10th day of November, 1947, at 8 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Bakersfield, California, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the Bakersfield Californian, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council, and shall give notice by mail of the adoption of said Resolution of Intention. The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said contemplated work and improvement and along all the open streets within said district, notice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in the manger and form required by law. 2.
