HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 0675RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0. 675 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT No. 675 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield to order the following work to be done and improve- meat to be made in said city, to wit: The construction of a sanitary sewer of 6" vitrified clay sewer pipe in East Truxtun.Avenue, Gage Street and East 18th Street, all in the City of Bakersfield, California. The construction of manholes and lampholes where shown on the plans of said work and the placing of "Y" branches at each and every lot, piece or parcel of land in the district, the exact location of said "Y" branches to be designated by the City Engineer. 111 of said work is to be done in accordance with the plan and profile and specifications therefor approved by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield and adopted by said Council on the 23rd day of May, 1949, said plan and profile being entitled: "Plan for Public Improvement District No. 6?5" and said specifications being entitled: "Specifications, information to Bidders, Special Pro- visions, Bid Proposal and Contract for Public Improvement District No. 6?5, May 1949" which plan and profile and specifications are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof and in this connection, said plan, profile and specifications also show the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. All of said work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the report of the City Engineer approved by the Council Of the City of Bakersfield and adopted by said Council on tit 6th day of it February, 1950, said report being entitled: "Public Improvement District No. 675 City of Bakersfield California, Investigation Report ", which said report is on file with the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield and may be examined at her office. Said report is hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof and in this connection, said report also shows the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. Said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of said City Council is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and said Council hereby makes the costs and expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Bast 18th Street with the center line of Gage Street, thence westerly along the center line of East 18th Street to the center line of Owens Street; thence northerly along the center line of Owens Street to the center line of East Truxtun Avenue (formerly Central .Avenue); thence easterly along the center line of East Truxtun.Avenue (formerly Central Avenue) to the center line of Gage Street; thence southerly along the center line of Gage Street to the point of beginning. All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bearing interest at the rate of five per cent (5�) per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by Division 10 of the Streets and Highways Code, the Improvement Act of 1915, and the last installment of such bonds shall mature nine (9) years from the 2nd day of July next succeeding ten (10) months from their date. 2. 3rd April NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on Monday, the 2$U day of 1950, at 8 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Bakersfield, California, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where all persons having any objec- tions to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City shall cause this Resolution of Intention to be published twice in the Bakersfield Press, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakers- field and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council, and shall give notice of the adoption of said Resolution of Intention by mailing notices, postage prepaid, to all persons owning real property which is proposed to be assessed to pay any part of the cost, of said work and improvement, whose names and addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll or as known to the Clerk.
