A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA DECLARING ITS IN-
TENTION TO ORDER THE VALTION OF AN ALLEY
IN BLOCK 5521, CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, pursuant
to the provisions of the "Street Vacation .Act of 1941," being Divi-
sion 9 of the Streets and highways Code of the State of California,
does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1: That it is the intention of the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, California, to order the vacation of an alley
within said City, described as follows, to wit:
All of the alley in Block 552, City of
Bakersfield, as said Block is shown and
delineated on Map of the City of Bakers-
field Kern County, California recorded
November 25 1898 in Book 1 of Maps at
pages 13 anJ 14, Aecords of Kern County,
California;
reserving and excepting from said vacation, the permanent easement
and right at any time, or from time to time, to construct, maintain,
operate, replace, remove, and renew sanitary sewers and storm drains
and appurtenant structures, and pursuant to any existing franchises
or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct, maintain, operate,
replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables,
wires, poles, and other convenient structures, equipment and fixtures
for the operation of gas pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines,
railroad lines, and for the transportation or distribution of electric
energy, petroleum and its products, ammonia, water, and incidental
purposes, including access and the right to keep the property free
from inflammable materials, and wood growth, and otherwise protect
the same from all hazards in, upon and over the alley proposed to
be vacated.

That it is determined by the Council of the City of Bakers-
field that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation
of said easements and the proceedings hereunder are taken subject to
such reservations and exceptions.
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation, reference
is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Bakersfield, in the City Hall, Bakersfield, California.
SECTION 2: That the hour of 8 o'clock P.M., of thel3th day
of &arch, 1950, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Bakersfield,
California, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and place when
and. where all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation may appear before the Council and offer evidence in relation
thereto.
SECTION 3: That the Superintendent of Streets of the City
of Bakersfield, California, be and he is hereby directed to cause
"Notice of Street Vacation" to be posted as required by the said
"Street Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California; and the Council of said
City hereby elects to proceed under the provisions of said Act.
SECTION The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution, and shall cause the same to be posted on the bulletin
board at the City Hall of said City within fifteen (15) days after
its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of February, 1950,
by the following vote:
