RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 690,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
California, as follows:
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of Bakers-
field to order the fallowing work to be done and improvement to be
made in said city, to wit:
The improvement of that certain public easement thirty
feet in width, extending northerly and southerly paral-
lel with and equidistant from the westerly right of way
line of Oakdale Drive and the easterly right of way line
of Wotherly Drive, from the northerly boundary line of
"Tract No. 1397" to the southerly boundary line of "Tract
No. 1397" by the construction of a 30 -inch Portland Cement
concrete irrigation pipe line in and along the seater line
of said public easement to replace the open irrigation
canal now being maintained in and along said public ease-
ment, excepting from said construction a 60 -foot section
or segment across Verde Street. Said 30• -foot public
easement, said right of way lines of Oakdale Drive and
Wetherly Drive, said boundary lines of "Tract No. 1397"
and said Verde Street, are shown and delineated on the
map of "Tract No. 1397 ", filed for record in the office
of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, on
Pages 67 and 68 in Book 6 of Maps on the 25th day of
September, 1947.
All of said work is to be done in accordance with the plan
approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield
on the 4th day of February, 1952, by Resolution No. to , which
plan consists of two (2) sheets, and is entitled "Plan for Public
Improvement District No. 690 ". Said plan is on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and is hereby referred
to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof, and in
this connection said plan also shows the exact location of the
aforesaid work and improvement.
On the 12th day of September, 1951, there was filed with
the "City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield a petition for said work
and improvement and a waiver of investigation proceedings under

the provisions of the Special Assessment Investigation Limitation
and Majority Protest Act of 1931, being Division 4 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California, which petition was
signed and filed by all the owners of more than sixty percent (60%)
in area of the property hereinafter described, which is subject to
assessment for said proposed work and improvement. By Resolution
No. 48 -51 adopted September 17, 1951, the City Council of said city
found and determined that said petition was sufficient under the
provisions of Section 2804 of said Streets and Highways Code.
Said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of
said City Council is of more than local or ordinary public benefit,
and said Council hereby makes the costs and expenses of said work
and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said
City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said
work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses
thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the northwesterly corner of Lot 59 in "Tract
No. 1397 ", as said Lot 59 is shown and delineated on the
map of "Tract No. 1397 ", filed for record in the office
of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, on
Pages 67 and 68 in Book 6 of Maps, on the 25th day of
September, 1947; thence easterly along the northerly bound-
ary line of said "Tract No. 1397 ", to its point of inter-
section with the westerly right of way line of Oakdale
Drive, as said northerly boundary line of "Tract No. 1397"
and said westerly right of way line of Oakdale Drive are
shown and delineated on aforesaid map of "Tract No. 1397 ";
thence southerly along said westerly right of way line of
Oakdale Drive and along its extension southerly to its
point of intersection with the northerly right of way line
of Brundage Lane, as said right of way line is shown and
delineated on aforesaid map of "Tract No. 1397"; thence
westerly along said northerly right of way line of Brundage
Lane to its point of intersection with the extension south-
erly of the easterly right of way line of Wetherly Drive,
as said easterly right of way line is shown and delineated
on aforesaid map of "Tract No. 1397 "; thence northerly
along the southerly extension of, and along the said east-
erly right of way line of said Wetherly Drive to the afore-
said northwesterly corner of Lot 59 and the point of begin-
ning.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance

of the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Division 7 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California.
The total cost of said work and improvement, including
incidental expenses, will be assessed upon property in the benefited
district described above, except that the City of Bakersfield will
contribute the sum of $3150.00.
Notice is hereby given that Serial Bonds shall be issued in
the manner and form provided in Part 5 of the Improvement Act of
1911, to represent unpaid assessments of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00)
or over, which said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of six
per cent (6 %) per annum and the last installment of which bonds shall
mature nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding
the next October fifteenth following their date.
Notice is further given that on Monday, the 25th day of
February, 1952, at 8 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall, Bakersfield, California, be and the same is hereby fixed
as the time and place when and where all persons having any objections
to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said City
Council and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be
carried out in accordance with said Resolution.
The City Clerk of said City shall cause this resolution of
Intention to be published twice in the Bakersfield Californian, a
daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of
Bakersfield and hereby designated for that purpose by said City
Council, and shall give notice of the adoption of said Resolution
of Intention by mailing notices, postage prepaid, to all persons
owning real property which is proposed to be assessed to pay any
part of the cost of said work and improvement, whose names and
addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll or as known
to the Clerk.

The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield shall
cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said contemplated
work and improvement and along all the open streets within said
district, notice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in
the manner and form required by law.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention
was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of February, 1952,
by the following vote:
