HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 14-30 RESOLUTION. 4 O BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE ';ITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: WEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the 30th day of June, 1930, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 604 to order the work described t' erein to be done and improvement to be made in said City; and WHEREAS, said Resolution of Intention was duly and legally published twice immediately after the passage of said Resolution, as required by law, in the The Bakersfield California, a daily newspaper published and circulated in said City, and designated by said Council for that purpose as appears from the affidavit of J. L. Meservey, Principal Clerk of said The Bakersfield Californian, now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; and WHEREAS, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention No. 604, headed "NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT" were duly and legally posted along the lines of said contemplated work and improve- ment and in front of the property liable to be assessed, and along all the open streets within such district, at not more than 300 feet apart and not less than three in all, in form and manner as required by 1 Ew, as appears from the affidavit of Walter Parent, who upon the completion of the posting of said notices forthwith filed said affidavit in the office of the City Clerk of said City making oath that he completed the posting of said notices on the 5th day of July, 1930; and WHEREAS, said posting was fully completed more than ten days before the date set for hearing protests and objections; and WHEREAS, the time set for hearing of said objections in said Resolution of Intention was more than fifteen and less than forty days from the date of the passage and adoption of said resolu- tion; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience require the work described in Resolution of Inten- tion No. 604 to be done, the Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby orders the work to be done as is described in said Resolution of Intention No. 604 and for further particulars reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention on file with the City Clerk, and said work shall be done in accordance with the plan and speci- fications on file with the City Clerk, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars; The City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield is hereby direct- ed to poet a notice together with the specifications therefor, con- spicuously for five days, on or near the door of the Council Chambers of the Council of the City of Bakersfield, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work herein ordered. He is also directed to publish a notice inviting such proposals and referring to the specifi- cations so posted or on file, twice in the The Bakersfield Californian, a daily newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby designated for that purpose. The 4th day of August, 1930, is hereby designated and fixed as the day on which up to the hour of 5 o'clock P. M., the said pro- posals or bids shall be received, and all bids so received shall be opened by the said Council in open session at 8 o'clock P.
