A RESOLUTION INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR PRELIMINARY DETERMINA-
TION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BASERSFIELD RELATING TO
A SEWER.

2 WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and aitvisable to construe
3 a sewer to serve the district hereinafter designated.
4 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
5 OF BAKERSFIELD:
6 That a sewer be constructed of the general nature,
7 location and extent as follows:
8 " A 6 inch diameter sanitary sewer extending from a man -
9 hole to be constructed on an existing 20 inch main in the center
10 line of Oleander Avenue to a point 758.51 feet Easterly of said
11 manhole. The said 6 inch diameter sewer to be 16 feet Southerly
12 of and parallel with the Northerly line of Blanche Street.

17 And that the boundaries or extent of the district or
18 lands to be assessed to pay the whole cost thereof are described
19 as follows, to -wit:
20 N Beginning at the intersection of the Westerly line of
21 Oleander Avenue with the «Jesterly prolongation of the center line
22 of Blanche Street; thence Easterly along the i"dexterly prolonga-
23 tion of the center line of Blanche and along the center line of
24 Blanche Street 811.51 feet to a point; thence Northerly at right
25 angles a distance of 130 feet to a point; thence 'Westerly along
26 a line which line is 100 feet Northerly of and parallel with the
27 Northerly line of Blanche Street to its intersection with the
28 71esterly line of Oleander Avenue; thence Southerly along the
29 ',desterly line of Oleander Avenue to the place of beginning.

1 Said improvement shall be performed under the Improve -
2 ment Act of 1911 entitled: "An act to provide for work in and
3 upon public streets, avenues, lanes, alleys, courts, places,
4 sidewalks, highways, roads, and other public property and rights
5 of way, in whole or in part, including property over which
6 possession and right of use has been obtained under the provision
7 of section fourteen of article one of the constitution within
8 municipalities, or within unincorporated territory and one or
9 more municipalities, or lying within two or more municipalities#
10 and for establishing and changing the grades of any such public
11 streets, avenues, lanes, alleys, courts, places, sidewalks, high -
12 ways, roads, properties or rights of way; and providing for the
13 issuance and payment of street improvement bonds to represent
14 certain assessments for the cost thereof, and providing a method
15 for the payment of such bonds." And the entire cost thereof
16 shall be paid by special assessment levied on the property
17 within the exterior boundaries of said district.
18 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
19 That the City Engineer of the City of Bakersfield
20 is hereby authorized and instructed to prepare for this Council,
21 a written report upon said proposed improvement, containing
22 the information required by Section 3 of that certain Act known
23 and designated as "Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation
24 and Majority Protest Act of 1931 ".

26 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
27 passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield on
28 the 85* day of April, 1935.
