A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA,
RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE OF STREET
IMPROVEMENT BONDS PURSUANT TO RESO-
LUTION OF INTENTION NO. 631, DETER-
MINING THE AMOUNT OF UNPAID ASSESS-
MENTS, PRESCRIBING THE DENOMINATIONS
OF SUCH BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR THEIR
ISSUANCE
WHEREAS, pursuant to statute, notice of filing
list of unpaid assessments was duly given in the manner
and form required by law, that the warrant, assessment
and diagram recorded on the 5th day of August, 1941, for
the work and improvement made by Griffith Company, a
Corporation, under that certain contract awarded to it,
on the 25th day of November, 1940, for the grading and
paving and otherwise improving a portion of Twenty -first
Street in said City, known as "Public Improvement District
No. 63111, and that the said warrant, assessment and diagram
were returned to the Superintendent of Streets, together
with a written statement of all payments received upon the
said assessment, and after the full expiration of thirty
(30) days from the date of said warrant, the said Superin-
tendent of Streets duly made and filed with the City Clerk
of the said City of Bakersfield, California, a complete
list of all assessments remaining unpaid upon the said
assessment, which list is now on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City, now upon evidence shown this
Council determines that the assessments therein mentioned
were then unpaid, the total aggregate thereof being the
sum of Four Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty Eight and 35/100
($4,958.35) Dollars.

That assessments numbered 1, 2, 8, 910 19, 22,
23, 25, 26, 253, 450 46, 47, 48, 49, 58, 59, 84, 87, 88
and 89 agErepgating ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY TWO
AND 34/100 DOLLARS 01,552.34 )
and no others have since been paid or partially paid,

since the filing of the said Street Superintendent's list
of unpaid assessments, and that there now remains unpaid
the sum of THREE THOUSAND FOUR RMIDRED SIX AND 01 /100
DOLLARS (``4''3,406.01 )
upon the assessments shown upon the said list other than
those hereinabove last noted as having been paid, or
partially paid.
Reference is hereby made to Resolution of Inten-
tion No. 631 of the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
California, adopted on the 21st day of October, 1940, for
a complete description of the work herein mentioned, and
also tc the list of unpaid assessments filed as above
noted for the assessments unpaid, and
WHEREAS interested persons were notified in the
manner required by law to appear before the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, California, in the Council Chamber
of the City Hall in said City, at the hour of eight (8:00)
o'clock P.M., of Monday, the 22nd day of September, 1941
and show cause why bonds should not be issued upon security
of the unpaid assessments shown on the said Street Super-
intendent's list, and
WHEREAS, notice was duly given in the manner and
form required by law, that serial bonds to represent un-
paid assessments bearing interest at the rate of five

per cent (5 %) per annum will be issued hereunder in
the manner provided by the "Improvement Bond Act of
1915 ", as amended, the last installment of which. bonds
will mature four (4) years from the second day of July
next succeeding* ten (10) months from their date.
And all interested persons having; appeared
before this Council and having been given full oppor-
tunity to shove cause why bonds should riot be issued
upon security of the unpaid assessments shown on the
said list, and all objections presented laving been
heard and considered,
NOW, Tff?_�REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, tha t the
Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, does
hereby find and determine that no cause hss been shown
why bonds should not be issued upon security of the
unpaid assessments, and does hereby overrule all objec-
tions hereto, and does hereby direct the issuance of
the said bonds, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that serial bonds
shall be issued upon the security of the said unpaid
assessments to the said amount of THREE THOUSAND FOUR
HUNDRED SIX AND 01 /100 DOLLARS. ($3,406.01).
The said bonds shall be five (5) in number
known as Series 531, and shall be dated the 22nd day
of September, 1941 and bear interest at the rate of five
per cent (5%) per annum, and the denominations of the
said bonds and the dates of the respective maturities
thereof, shall be as follows:

The first coupon of interest shall be for
interest from the 5th day of September, 1941 to the 2nd
day of January, 1943, and the several coupon3 of inter-
est thereafter shall be for the semi - annual interest,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said bonds shall
be signed by the Treasurer of said City and counter-
signed by the Clerk, who shall affix thereto the official
seal of said City; the interest coupons affixed thereto
shall be signed by the Treasurer or bear his engraved,
printed or lithographed signature in place of his signa-
ture by hand, and such signing and sealing of said bonds
by said officers, and signing of said coupons by said
Treasurer, shall constitute and be a sufficient and bind -
ing execution of each and every one of said bonds and
all of the coupons thereof respectively. Said bonds
shall be prepared substantially in the form prescribed
by Section 6 of the said "Improvement Bond Act of 1915 ",
as amended, and
