HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 22-40RESOLUTIO T OF T= COUNCIL OF THE X22 40 CITY OF BAIMRSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, ORDERIN& ';BORIC IN TIC LATTER OF "PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0, 631" OF SAID CITY, PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION OF INT 111 TIC1T ADOPTED BY SAID COUNCIL ON THE TVIENTY -FIRST DAY OF OCTOBER, 1940, The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California pursuant to the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", and amendments to said Act, does resolve as follows; That the public interests and convenience require the work hereinafter mentioned to be done, and therefore the said Council hereby orders the following wor?_ to be done and improvements to be made in said City, to -wit; The grading and paving with asphalt concrete pave- ment, construction of cement concrete curbs and Outters and the construction of part circle corrugated iron and cement concrete culverts, in Twenty -First Street between the east line of L Street and the east lire of Q Street in said City, all as more particularly, described in Resolution of Intention passed and adopted by the said Council on the twenty -first day of October, 1940, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, California. For further particulars reference is hereby :Wade to said Resolution of Intention and also to the plans, pro- files, cross- sections and specifications for "Public improve- ment District No. 631" on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and all of said flans, profiles, cross- sections and specifications heretofore approved by the said Council of said. City are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said work. - 1 - The said Council has determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned was, in the opinion of the said. Council, of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and the said Council has made a portion of the costs and expenses of said work_ charn-eable upon a district. For a particular description of the said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention. The said Council has determined and declared and notice is hereby liven that the City of Bakersfield will, out of its "Gas Tax Fund for Streets of i:!ajor Importance" pay the sum of "e'15,600.00, and will, out of its "Street Improvement Fund ", pay an additional sum of :400,00 tovvard the costs and expenses of said improvement, and the lia- bility and obligation to Pay such sums so provided in the Resolution of Intention herein refe- °red to shall accrue and became fixed upon the date of the confirmation of the assessment by the Council of said City. The said Council has determined and declared and notice is hereby ,given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and to bear interest at the rate of five per cent (5;0) per annum shall be issued hereunder in the manner provided in the "Improvement Bond Act of 191511, approved June 11, 1915, and all acts amendatory thereof, the last installment of which bonds shall mature four (4) years from the second day, of July next succeeding 10 months from their date* - 2 - All of the work here` n o:�Cisred s =,-all riolle and carried throuSh in pursuance of an Act of tine Le;isla- ture of the State of California, desiSnated the "improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof, except for the issuance of bonds as herein pro- vided. The City Cleric is hereby directed to post con- spicuously for five (5) days on or near the Chamber door of the said Council in the maauzer and form required by law, a Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals or Bids for doin- the work ordered, and the said Clerl: is hereby directed to publish twice in "The Kern Herald ", a daily newspaper, printed, published and of Seneral cir;:ulation in the City of Bakersfield, California, a ilotice inviting such pro- posals or bids for doins the said work and referrin- to the specifications on file in the office of the City -lerk of said City.
