RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CLOSIING OF A CERTAIN
PORTION OF M STREET, IN THE CITY OF BAIhTRu-
FIELD, CALIFCRNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
VMREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the
27th day of April, 1942 pass its Resolution of Intention No. 639,
to order the following wort; to be done, to -wit:
That the following described portion of In Street be closed,
and the lands included within the boundaries of such portion of M
Street, as described, be abandoned; save and except the perpetual
right and easement to use and enjoy any or all of the property
described herein for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing,
installing, laying, maintaining or repairing the following:
A sewer line and all of its component parts used or enjoyed
in connection therewith; also any other instrumentalities of sanita-
tion; also water pipes, fire hydrants and appliances for
fire protection and all appurtenances thereto belonging; also water
pipes and connections for the distribution of a domestic water
supply; also any other public system or thing and all of its component
parts which may be used and enjoyed in connection therewith, that the
City of Bakersfield may desire to place or to have placed therein:
All of that certain portion of Ivi Street from the northerly
line of 30th Street to the southerly line of 31st Street, as said
streets are laid out and shown on that certain map entitled "Map
of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California ", filed in the
office of the County Recorder of said Kern County, November 25,
1898, in Map Book 1, pages 13 and 14.
All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be
done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of
California, entitled "AN ACT TO- MOVDE FOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING,
EnTRI,TDING, WIDENING, STRAIGHTENING OR CLOSING UP, IN `.-'THOLE OR IN

PART, ANY STREET, SQUARE, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE WITHIN
NIUNICIPALITIES ARID TO CO ]DEPiN AND ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LAND NEC-
ESSARY OR COiIVENIENT FOR THAT PURPOSE ", approved March 6, 1889,
and the several acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto.
For further particulars reference is hereby made to Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 639, on file in the office of the City Clerk
of the City of Bakersfield.
WIEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Bakers-
field did thereupon cause notices of the passage of said Resolution
to be posted and published for ten (10) days in the manner as required
by law; anC
+'EAS, no objections have been filed against said work and
improvement, and. more than ten (10) clays have elapsed after the
expiration of the time of publication of said. notices of the passage
of said Resolution and the Council of the City of Bakersfield has
acquired jurisdiction to order said worLc as proposed in said. Resolu-
tion to be done;
NM6 THEREFORE, IT IS HERESY ORDERED that said work and
improvement be done as aforesaid and as specifically described. in
said Resolution of Intention No. 639, and that said portion of
N Street between the northerly line of 30th Street and the southerly
line of 31st Street, as said streets are laid out and shown on that
certain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County,
California ", filed in the office of the County Recorder of said
Kern County, November 25, 1898, in Map Book 1, pages 13 and 14, be
closed.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and. adopted by the Council of " e City of Bakersfield, at a regular
